EAU CLAIRE/WHITEHALL, Wis. — Alphonse E. “Al” Rebarchek, age 56, of Eau Claire, formerly of Whitehall, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Al was born on April 19, 1947, in Whitehall to Edward and Evelyn (Waleztko) Rebarchek Sr. He graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1966, and was drafted into the United States Army, serving three years in Vietnam.

Al was married to Sandy Peterson for twelve years. He later married Bonnie Levenhagen on September 12, 1998, in Saint Pat’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire.

Al lived in Galesville and La Crosse prior to moving to Eau Claire. He was employed as a truck driver for TRAC Inc. in Menomonie. Al was a life member of the La Crosse VFW and enjoyed motorcycling.

Al is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his mother, Evelyn Rebarchek of Whitehall; two step-children, Christy and Kevin Smith both of Eau Claire; three brothers, Ronald Rebarchek of Independence, Edward (Denise) Rebarchek Jr. of Janesville and Jerome (Diane) Rebarchek of Arcadia; four sisters, Mary Prokop and Debbie (Darrell) Julson both of Whitehall, Diane Woychik of Janesville and Rita (Roy) Kinser of Chesapeake, Va.; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Al was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Woychik; two nephews, Brady Rebarchek and stillborn Baby Boy Rebarchek.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John’s Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Father Thomas J. McInnis will officiate.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post 191.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. followed by a parish rosary. Friends may also call one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
