The stone house built by stone mason Valentine Weber about 1860, was the home of Anna Barbara Christoph for many years. It was found to be still in existence on the Diesburg farm north of Dyersville.
David & Carol (Christoph) Wessels learned the house was to be demolished.
They recruited the Dyersville Area Historical Society to assist in its preservation.
Dave and his son, John, dismantled the house, stone by stone, cleaning and
Numbering each one. They painstakingly rebuilt the house on its present site
At the Dyersville Commercial Club Park.
