John, age 80, died at Via Christi Village in Manhattan. He was the youngest child of George and Nellie (Walsh) Bloomfield. He graduated from Saint Patrick High School in Wyandotte. He served 20 years in US Army during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict, achieving a rank of Master Sergeant-E8. He served as part of the honor guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ogden and ordained as a Deacon and was a Forth Degree Knights of Columbus. He married Darlene Schwalm on May 3, 1952, at Fort Riley, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, his children, Jennifer Bauer and John Bloomfield, his sister, Patricia Oswald, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ogden. Inurnment, with military honors, was in Kansas Veteran Cemetery.
