Mae J. Kahlbaugh, 95, of Washington, formerly of Hickory, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 27, 2011.

She was born May 29, 1916, in Washington, daughter of Albert Riley and Mary Myrtle Miller Poland.

She was a homemaker and friend and enjoyed baking and sewing as long as she was able.

Mrs. Kahlbaugh was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene of Washington.

On March 28, 1938, she was married to Ralph S. Kahlbaugh. They were married for more than 65 years before his death May 12, 2003.

Surviving are son Kenneth R. Kahlbaugh of Washington; daughter Dolores A. (Stanley) Swierkowski of Allison Park; five grandchildren, Kenneth Kahlbaugh II, Joseph (Paige) Kahlbaugh, Karen Swierkowski (James) Reiss, Michael Swierkowski and Cathleen Swierkowski; seven great-grandchildren; brother Orvle K. Poland of Grindstone; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Nellie Thomas and Vaughn Meyer, and three brothers, Glen, Floyd and infant Lawrence Poland.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell and Barnhill Funeral Home Inc., 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Saturday, December 31, in First Church of the Nazarene, 1336 North Main Street, Washington, with the Rev. Marty Bausman officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Private burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va.
