Hilda Walvatne, 95, a retired caregiver died Monday Feb 27, 1995 in Southridge Care Center. Hilda Lagemann was born Aug 25 1899 in Kanaranzi MN. She married Henry Walvatne on Jan 18, 1924 in Rock Rapids, IA He died Oct 15 1929. She took care of foster children for many years and later was a cook at Sioux Falls College, Cataract Hotel, Carpenter Hotel and Fantle's Tea Room. After she retired she took care of two elderly women for 27 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and Royal Neighbors. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Garnmeister of Sioux Falls,: one granddaughter and one sister Mrs Edna Poquette, Prior Lake, MN. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Christ the Victor Chapel of the First Lutheran Church with burial in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at noon today in Chapel Hill funeral Home, with family present from7 to 8 p.m. tonight
