Hattie C. Cerny, 91, of Bay City passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 in Bay City. She was born September 4, 1915 in Praha, TX to the late Joseph Cerny & Katrina Cervenka Cerny. Hattie was a resident of Matagorda County for 68 years, and a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.

She is survived by: 2 daughters: Dolores Drozd of Bay City, and Mildred Neuman of Blessing; 2 sons: Albert and Alvin Cerny both of Bay City; sister: Agnes Heinrich of Schulenburg; 7 grandchildren: Dianne Dry, Elaine Dunn, Priscilla Norman, Janice Trochta, Steven and Mark Zernicek, and Dena Gomez; 12 great grandchildren: Zane, Zack and Taylor Gomez, Trevor and Jason Dunn, Robert II and Ashlyn Norman, Audrey and Laura Zernicek, Eric and Ryan Trochta and Jacob Daniel; and 2 great great grandchildren: Robert III and Aliyah Norman.

Mrs. Cerny is preceded in death by her parents; husband: John Albert Cerny; 2 sisters: Mary C. Polensky and Julia Archer; and 6 brothers: Frank, Anton, Emil, Adolph, Willie and Rudolph Cerny.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in El Campo.
