Helen Marie Gaetani, 93, of 103 Robbins Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Adams on November 9, 1918, a daughter of Michael and Mary Peret Cebula, she was a 1937 pro-merito graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mrs. Gaetani had been employed by General Electric Company as a quality control inspector for twenty-three years, retiring in 1981. She had previously worked nine years at the Wyandotte Worsted Mills, and for a time at Hillcrest Hospital and at Rice's Silk Mill.

She was a communicant of he former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and reading. Mrs. Gaetani is remembered as one of the most generous persons her family ever met. She enjoyed many parties with her family, boating with her children, and going to horse races with her children.

Her husband, Charles S. Gaetani, Jr., whom she married on July 23, 1945, died July 3, 1997.

Mrs. Gaetani is survived by a daughter and devoted caregiver, Gail M. Mykysey, and her husband, Jerry; four sons, Lee E. Lester, and his wife, Pat; Craig C. Gaetani of Pittsfield, David E. Gaetani, and Gerald V. Gaetani, all of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Mark Lester, Paul Lester, John Lester, Donna Boschetti, Lynn Dimond, and Justin Gaetani; eleven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Cebula and Joseph Cebula; and a sister, Jane Wojtkowski.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home.
