He was a member of the Methodist Church of Gilbert and a Veteran of World War I.
Funeral services are incomplete but the body will lie in state at the chapel of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro until time for services.
Interment will be in Oakley Cemetery near Gilbert.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Allie Mae Bond, Gilbert; two daughters, Mrs. Anne Konick, Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Tomasia B. Tarver, Winnsboro; a son, FT 1st Class Walter Bond, U.S. Navy, Long Beach, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Hattie Dill, Delhi; six grandchildren.
