Michael W. Wilke of Rehoboth, DE, formerly of
Cordova, MD, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at his
home. He was 55 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on May 25, 1956, Michael was
the son of the late Arthur George Wilke and the late
Shirley Lenora Manahan Harris. He was a 1974
graduate of Easton High School.
Growing up in Cordova, Michael was active in 4-H,
becoming a 4-H All Star. He had always retained a
tremendous love for animals of all types and had
adopted many over the years. For many years, he was
a Hair Dresser. In 2003, he became a Lay Minister.
For the past five years, he has owned and operated his
own cleaning service in the Rehoboth area. He
attended the Quaker Friends in Camden, DE.
In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by
his step parents, Dorothy Wilke and J. Russell Harris.
He is survived by his sister, Renee Pearson and her
husband Troy of Cordova and step siblings: Larry
Harris and his wife Sylvia of Forest Hill, MD, Connie
Sypniewski of Cordova and Teresa Kalenowski of
Easton, and several nieces and nephews: Brandon,
Lauren, Lindsay, Neva, Nevan, Karl, Catherine, and
Samuel. He is also survived by a close friend, Doug
Evans of Alexandria, V A.
A memorial service will be 11 AM on Monday,
January 16th, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran
Church, 12095 Blades Road, Cordova, MD 21625.
