A private graveside service for George Naftanail, 73, of Mentor will be Wednesday at Mentor Cemetery.
Mr. Naftanail died Oct. 25, 1997 at Cleveland Clinic.
Born Feb. 25, 1924, in Cleveland, he moved to Mentor 40 years ago.
He held a BSC from Ohio University in Athens, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Calif. and a JD from Cleveland State University in Cleveland. He was a member of the American Legion and the Society for Human Resource Management in Cleveland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing and traveling.
Mr. Naftanail was employed by Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland, as human resource manager, Ohio region, retiring in 1988 after 11 years. Prior to that, he worked for Addressograph-Multigraph Corp. as manager of industrial relations from 1951 to 1977.
Surviving are wife, Clarion; sons, Eric Naftanail and Robert (Dawn) Naftanail of Mentor; daughters, Barbara (Robert) Wise of Columbus and Debra (Daniel) Wieske of Jackson, Mich.; grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah and Erica Naftanail of Mentor; and sisters, Aneta Feola of Florida and Martha (Peter) Papcum of Westlake.
His parents, George and Sara Naftanail, are deceased.
The Rev. John Anderson of Advent Lutheran Church will officiate at the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Blessing Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 9340 Pinecone Drive, Mentor.
