He was united in marriage to Cora May Anstine on July 3, 1893 in Pottawattamie County, Avoca, Iowa. To this union were born thirteen children; Frank Elmer, Earl, Dolly, Addie, Grace Alberta, Alma, Ora, James, Joseph, Isabell, Barbara, Daniel and Alberta Grace Garrison.
He was a brother to; Rebecca Jane, Andrew Jackson, Lewis W. and Nettie.
