Obituary, The Oklahoman, May 13, 1994:
William "Bill" Bevers, died May 11, 1994 after a long and couragous battle against cancer. He was 63. He was born May 14, 1930 in Ada OK to William & Lottie Bevers, both of whom preceded him in death.

He spent his early years there (Ada) attending public schools from kindergarten thru graduation from high school. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. He received his BBA degree from the university's business school in Jun 1952 and went on to obtain his LLB from the OU School of Law in 1955. After graduation, he served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Bill married Barbara Mee in December 1952 and two children, Stan and Dana, were born. She (Barbara) preceded him in death in 1982, a victim of cancer. In 1985, Bill married Shelly Coleman Denning.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly; and his family, Dr Stan Bevers and his wife, Janis and their children; Dana Price and her husband, Matt and their children; Margee Young and her children of Austin TX; Brad Denning and his wife, Janie; Gretchen Rockenfield and her husband, Jim of Ute NM.

He had an active and successful career in the practice of law, banking, real estate development and in manufacturing.
After his discharge from the Army, he was a law clerk and later became an assistant municipal counselor for the city. He joined the staff of Liberty Bank and was active in real estate investment trusts in both Oklahoma and Florida. After his return to OKC, he participated in entrepreneurial ventures with the late W. W. Whiteman. In 1971 he became sole owner C&D Valve Co, a manufacturing operation he managed until his death.

In 1985 he announced and sucessfully completed the development of Glengate, an exclusive enclave of homes in northwest OKC. Bill was active in virtually every phase of OKC life but he was particulary active in the OKC Golf & Country Club, where he served on the board and was an avid golfer, actively worked for the betterment of the golf course. He took pride in the membership of the Oklahoma Horsemen's Association. He was a member of a partnership that owned thoroughbred race horses and he enjoyed watching them run at Remington Park and other tracks. He was also a member of the Economics Club, the Lotus Club and The 75 Club. He had been a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Before his death, Bill requested that any rememberances be made in his name to the OKC Community Foundation. A memorial services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday at 2 pm.
