Alta Hartman Terry, 95, of Harrisonburg, VA died January 18, 2012 at Oak Lea Nursing Home.

She was born July 2, 1916 in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Della Layman Hartman.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church near Harrisonburg.

On October 31, 1936 she married Marvin R. "Jake" Terry, who preceded her in death March 21, 2003.

Surviving are a son, Wilbur E. "Two-Gun" Terry and wife Elsie of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Judy T. Biller and husband Harry of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Ruby Whitelaw of Harrisonburg, Juanita McMullen and husband Don of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Sgt. Major Norlan "Jake" Biller and wife Julie, Corinna "Renie" Smith and husband Jim, Tim Biller and wife Stephanie, Todd Biller and wife Cara; great grandchildren, Heather Nichole Smith, Jordan Blake Smith, Zachary Tessman, Keara Lea Biller, Jadon Matthew Biller, Jonathan Evan Biller; great grandchild, Nevaeh Tessman.

A brother, Floyd Dwight Hartman, preceded her in death.

Tim Biller and Pastor Gerald Martin will conduct a funeral service 2:00 P.M. Monday at Fellowship United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
