ALPHONSE A. ANGST CHESANING
Passed away Sunday evening, September 22, 1991, at his home. Age 96 years. He was born Nov. 21, 1894 in Maple Grove Township. He was the son of William and Olivia (Schlachter) Angst. He had resided in Maple Grove and the Chesaning area his entire life. He married Clara A. Ebenhoeh on June 25, 1921. She predeceased him on July 17, 1975. He was a Veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Chesaning V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. He served many years as the Maple Grove Township Supervisor and Treasurer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2943. Mr. Angst had been a retired farmer. Surviving are two sons and three daughters and their spouses, Ervin and Yvonne Angst, Chesaning; Eileen and Al Eldridge, Owosso; Madeline Sumbera, Owosso; Joan and Donald Frelitz, Chesaning; James Frelitz, Chesaning; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Angst, Owosso; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hilda Wendling and Sabina Wendling; one brother, Phil Angst. He was predeceased by two sons, Harold and Kenneth. He was also predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Chesaning. Rev. Fr. Henry Eickholt officiated with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Maple Grove.
