Funeral Rites For A. Kemper Held Wednesday

Templeton -- Anton Kemper passed away at his home Sunday evening, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 a.m., with Msgr. F. H. Huessmann officiating.
Anton Kemper was born in Yalen, Germany, July 27, 1854. He came to the United States in 1873. In 1882 he came to Iowa, settling in New Vienna. In 1883 he came to Carroll county. On Feb. 26, 1883, he was married at Roselle to Josephine Dultmeier. He farmed southeast of Templeton for thirty-six years. Nineteen years ago he retired from farming. On Sept. 10, 1920, they moved to town in a modern residence which he purchased. He is survived by his wife and eight children, namely: Agnes (Mrs. Frank Irlmeier); Frank, Elizabeth, Anna (Mrs. John Rohe); Clara (Mrs. Frank X. Sporrer); Edward, Albert and William all live around Templeton. He was a member of the Holy Name Mens' Society, who attended the funeral in a body.
