Darlene J. Martin, 82 of Waterville, Kansas formerly of Marysville, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcare.


A graveside funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Hanover Cemetery in Hanover, Kansas. Rev. Donnie Hoffman officiated.

Darlene was born on June 23, 1929 in Marysville, the daughter of Martin and Thelma (Duever) Roever.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Darlene worked as a dispatcher in the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and also worked at the Sale Barn.

She had a great love for all animals, especially her love for horses. Darlene enjoyed barrel races and pleasure horses. She belonged to the Saddle Club and helped with 4-H. She also raised dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Laurence Martin, Waterville; and sister, Wymeth McMillan, Wathena, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Loren Roever and Arlyn Roever.
