Mary Arndt was born in Leaf Mountain Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, December 20, 1911, the daughter of John T. and Annie (Loeffler) Klimek.
She grew to womanhood in that area and on May 2, 1933, was united in marriage to Raymond Arndt in Millerville, Minnesota. The couple farmed in Brandon Township.
Raymond died in 1971.
Mary was a member of the St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, the St. John's Mission, and the Brandon Senior Citizens.
She died January 10, 1989, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 77 years.
Mary is survived by sons: Wendell and wife Lucille Arndt of Brooklyn Center, Vernon and wife Karen Arndt of Long Prairie, Gery and wife Beverly Arndt of Lakefield, Dennis and wife Christine Arndt of Brandon, David and wife Suzanne Arndt of St. Louis, MO; daughter; Donna and husband Jerome Suchy of Avon; mother: Annie Klimek; brothers: Alfred Klimek of Parkers Prairie, Norbert Klimek of Millerville, Clement Klimek of Fergus Falls, Urban Klimek of Parkers Prairie; and sister: Mrs. Donald (Bernadine) Busch of Garfield. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, husband, sister Cordelia and brothers George, Carl and Alois.
Mass of Christian Burial was January 14, 1989 at St. Ann's Catholic church, Brandon, Minnesota with Leonard Gaida officiating.
Interment was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota.
Pallbearers were Daniel Arndt, Douglas Arndt, Gregory Arndt, Brian Arndt, Neal Suchy and Craig Arndt. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Arndt, Vernon Arndt, Gery Arndt, Dennis Arndt, David Arndt and Donna Suchy.
Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
