Family Auto Kills Boyds Tot in Unusual Accident Children Playing Inside Car Freed Brake; Two Leap Safely

A 23-month-old boy was run over and killed by the family car in the driveway of his home near Boyds on Sunday.

Montgomery County Police said Michael Benny Justus of Bucklodge Road was playing in the parked car with his two sisters when one of them released the brake and the car rolled backward down the driveway.

The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Justus jumped from the car. Police said that the girls cleared the machine but Michael struck the car door which knocked him down and into the path of the left front wheel.

Police said the child was pronounced dead at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda.

Michael's father is employed by the Montgomery County government.

In addition to his parents and sisters, the boy leaves a grandmother, Mrs. Sara Justus of Grundy, VA.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville. The Rev. Horace DuBois will officiate.

Burial will be in Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville.
