Helen was born December 14, 1917, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert and Josephine Lamping. She
graduated from Benson High School in Omaha. After graduation, she was employed at Carpenter
Paper Company and later at her father's business, Interstate Glass Company in Omaha.
On April 18, 1942, Helen married Laverne Bryan. After his service in the war, they made their
home in Clarkson, Nebraska where they started their first pharmacy, Clarkson Sundries. Helen and
Laverne moved to Schuyler in 1958 where they started their second business, Bryan Rexall
Pharmacy. They resided many years in Schuyler with their daughter, Nancy. They enjoyed family
and friends, traveling, scouting, gardening and golfing. Following her husband's death, Helen
moved to Norfolk to be closer to family. She was a founding member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary
in Clarkson and was very active in her church and community.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Laverne in 1995, and three sisters; Dorothy
Keefe, Mildred Bunz and Margaret Krausert.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Brian Nissen of Norfolk and three
grandchildren; Mike Nissen, Norfolk, Matt Nissen, Omaha and Katie Nissen of Norfolk.
