Emilie Ella Guettner, age 97, of Houston, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2012. She was born December 26, 1914 in Shiner, Texas to Tom and Annie (Elsik) Malina. She was a housewife and bookkeeper for her husband's auto repair business for over 40 years, in the Heights. She was a member of the SPJST since 1933 and Lodge 88 and she was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Emile enjoyed dancing with her loving husband Wylie, cooking and traveling to Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wylie Guettner and by her brothers and sisters-in-law; Tom (Freda) Malina and William (Lola) Malina both of Houston, Texas and her sister, Annie (Tom) Coldewey of Yoakum, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Emilie is survived by her daughter Doris Taylor, her granddaughter Terrie (Allan) Crockett and two great grandsons, Charles and Andrew Crockett of Harlingen, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Allan Crockett, David Guettner, Dan Gast, Joe Sestak, Fred Sampson, and Bob Cook. Funeral services will be in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel at 12:30 p.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
