ASHEVILLE - Ellen Dora McElrath, 58, of 37 Hazelwood St., Asheville, died Monday in an Asheville hospital.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Holiday Inn-East. She was a daughter of the late Ernest A. and Ethel Mae Collins Arrington.
Surviving are two daughters, Joan Allen and Jean Loftin of Asheville; three sons, Jim Towe of Candler, Bobby and Jerry Towe of Asheville; her stepmother, Margaret T. Arrington of Candler; four sisters, Irene Riddle and Dorothy Banks of Swannanoa, Ruth Penley of Asheville and Lucille Clark of Candler; four half sisters, Mildred Rogers and Katherine Mittelsteadt of Rockford, Ill., Wilma Roach and Virginia O'Dette of Candler; two brothers, Fred Arrington of Candler and Claude Arrington of Rockford; a half brother, Leroy Arrington of Candler; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The Rev. Jay Blankenship will officiate. Burial will be in Skyview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of a daughter, Jean Loftin, 12 Hazelwood St., Asheville.
