Charles N. Pickert, Jr., 73, of Vestal, died Saturday, March 1, 2008. He is survived by his loving companion, Shirley Zaharris; four children, Diane and Mark Weisslender, Sharon and Jon Kimmel, Michele and Bryan Foulke, Brian and Marcy Pickert; his grandchildren, Leanna Weisslender, Shane Kimmel, Jacob Weisslender, Callin and Ashlin Kimmel, Tyler and Zachary Foulke, Eva Pickert, Aaron Foulke, Aidan Pickert; five sisters, Beverly Keeler, Clare and Don Ferris, Mary Knapp, Wanda Fox, Ruth and Bob Ward; the mother of his children, Carolyn Hromek. He was a retired Broome County Sheriff's Deputy, veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of American Legion Post 1645.
Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday (Today) at 1 p.m. Rev. Ernest A. Steffensen will officiate. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 12 Noon until 1 p.m.
