From the Sullivan County Democrat in an issue printed July 16 2004:
"Norman H. Bury, 93 Ret. Hvy, Equip. Oper.
Norman H. Bury of Callicoon Center, a retired heavy equipment operator for the Town of Callicoon and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 93 years of age.
The son of the late Harvey and Ruth Kraft Bury, he was born November 28, 1910, in Roscoe. He was the widower of Madalin Gage Bury.
Mr. Bury was a member of the Callicoon Center Scheutzen Verein, the United Reformed Church of Youngsville and a 66-year member of the Callicoon Center Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gale and Judy Bury of Kinderhook and Gary and Patricia Bury of Thorp, Wash.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Mall of Callicoon Center; three brothers, Douglas Bury of Roscoe, Richard Bury of Morrisville and Ronald Bury of Roscoe; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Millard Bury, and two sisters, Marion Buck and Janet LeRoy.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Firematic services will be held Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Reformed Church in Youngsville.
Burial will be made in the Callicoon Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Reformed Church of Youngsville, P.O. Box 251, Youngsville, N.Y. 12791; the Jeffersonville First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 396, Jeffersonville, N.Y. 12748; or to the Callicoon Center Volunteer Fire Department, Callicoon Center, N.Y. 12724."
