HOISINGTON - John Klein, 72, died Monday evening at his home of an apparent heart attack. Born June 9, 1895 in Lincolnville, he was a retired employee of the Missouri - Pacific Railroad. He was an electrician with the railroad for 29 years. He married Flossie Gwinup Aug. 15, 1941 in Great Bend.
He was a member of First Methodist Church of Hoisington and the Benefit Assn. of Railroad Employees.
He is survived by the widow, of the home one daughter, Mrs.Ted (Bernice) Kittrell, Redwood City, Calif.; step - daughter, Mrs. Doris Wise, Wellington; brothers, Reuben Klein, Wellington and Victor Klein, Hugoton; sisters, Mrs. Charles Robertson, Wellington, Mrs. Godfrey Schwemmer, Hoisington, Mrs. Ben Glantz, Winfield, Mrs.Henry B. Stieben, Bazine, Mrs.Reuben Neidens, Hoisington, and Mrs. Ray Harris, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Nicholson - Ricke Chapel, 1st and Green, Hoisington, and at 2 p.m. at the church with the Revs. R. J. Gotschall and J. Cecil Coover officiating. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. The casket will not be opened at the church. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a,m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday until service time.
