-- David Richard Wilson Mr. Wilson, 64, of Pineville, NC, lost his battle with emphysema and died on October 28. He was born in Charlotte to the late William and Gladys Wilson. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Steve, Bill Jr. and Archie. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tina Young Wilson, his daughter Robin Larson and husband Paul and grandson Drew of Wisconsin along with numerous nieces and nephews. He attended South Mecklenburg but during the height of the Vietnam War he joined the US Army and was a member of the 101St Airborne. He worked as a Radio Relay Operator in Vietnam in 1968 where he earned the Army Commendation Medal for installing an antenna during an air strike. David was an employee of CMC during the 1980's but retired as a driver from the Carriage Club where he learned about his ability to relate to the elderly. He was a talented photographer at one time photographing Vice President Dan Quayle and satirist Lewis Grizzard. He was very passionate about his hobbies which included photography, camping, woodworking, fishing, and target shooting. Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Friday, November 5 at Avondale Presbyterian Church, 2821 Park Rd. in Charlotte. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. John Earl presiding. Interment will follow at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville. In lieu of flowers, one may make donations in his name to Avondale Presbyterian Church or to the Disabled American Veterans.
