Martha Ann Sweeney, 79, of Chanute, Kansas, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at the Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute, Kansas.

She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Chanute, Kansas to Louis Philip and Amber (Frisbie) Kaemmerling.

She married Frank Morrison April 14, 1943. They later divorced.

She married Tom H. Sweeney in 1959. They later separated.

She worked at Jensen's Egg Plant in the 50s and worked for Burlington Manufacturing for more than 20 years, both in Chanute. She worked at Prestige Cabinet in Neodesha and then worked at National Garment Factory in Chanute until retiring in 1991.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, beadwork, garage sales, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Bockover and husband, Cary, of Parsons, KS; two sons, Steve Morrison, of Neodesha, KS, and Gary Morrison and wife, Donna, of Germantown, WI; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Kaemmerling, of Chanute, KS, and Willard Jobe Jr., of Del City, OK.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frankie Morrison; three sisters, LeEtta Cowan, Arlene Kaemmerling, and Edna Winn; and three brothers, Edward, Alan, and Elton Kaemmerling.

The service will be Monday at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel in Chanute with the Rev. R.A. Pefley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, which may be left at the funeral home.
