SLACK, DORIS ANN GLADDEN - was born October 23, 1957 in Memphis, TN to the union of the late Horace and Sally White. She entered in rest, when God called her home to be with him on January 24, 2012 at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clyde White. Mrs. Slack leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 27 years, Joseph Slack; three sons and daughters-in-law Horrace (Hannah) Gladden, Brooks (Sonya) Gladden, Joseph D. (Helen) Slack all of Knoxville; two daughters, Sally "Joana" Slack and Doris "Annette" Slack both of Knoxville. She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Lastaci Carney of Cleveland, OH, Shane Ortiz, NeTayvion Neal and Nievea all of Knoxville and a great-granddaughter, Kymya Carney of Cleveland, OH; special cousins, Willie B. Shy, MacArthur, Linda Drake, Jeff Drake and Early Mae Brown and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 3229 George Light Road, Knoxville, TN with Elder Darris W. Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
