Mrs. Dena Mieras, 89, formerly of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Luverne, Minn. Community Hospital.

Dena Dorothy was born May 11, 1892, at Orange City, the daughter of Martin Raak and Hendrika Jongewaard Raak.

On Feb. 27, 1919, she married George Mieras at Orange City. They farmed in the Orange City and Maurice area, moving into Orange City in 1944. Mr. Mieras passed away July 29, 1975.

In July of 1976, Mrs. Mieras became as resident of the Edgebrook Rest Center at Edgerton, Minn.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Peter (Henrietta) Mulder, of Luverne, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and three brothers and sister, Arie Raak of Orange City; Mrs. James (Gertrude) Zevenbergen of Alton; and Peter Raak of Orange City.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mieras was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Jane, who passed away in 1930 at the age of two; a sister, Mrs. Peter (Ida) Vander Wei; and a brother, Gerrit Raak.

She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church of Orange City, where funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 21. The Rev. Donald R. Lenderink officiated, followed by interment at Sherman Township Cemetery, near Maurice, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman
Funeral Home of Orange City.
