Julia Schabel Funeral Rites Set For Friday

Julia R. Schabel, 90, Dutton, died Monday, May 21, 1984, at the Teton Medical Center, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held May 25, at 11 a.m., at St. William's Catholic church in Dutton. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Great Falls.

Mrs. Schabel was born Oct. 5, 1893, at Denzer, Wis., where she was raised and attended school. Following her education she was employed at a sanitarium at Lake Geneva, Wis. She married Frank M. Schabel on June 30, 1915, at Houghtenberg, Wis., and following their marriage they moved to Belt, Mont., where he was employed for a grain elevator company.

In 1918 they moved to Great Falls, where he was employed by General Mills until 1921, when they made their home at Dutton, where he was manager of the Dutton Co-op Elevator. Schabel preceded her in death in 1962 and she continued to make her home in Dutton until the time of her death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathlyn Thorwaldson in 1944, and two sons, John died in 1957 and Frank, Jr, in 1983. Survivors include a son, Loren of Kalispell, nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Loch of Great Falls and a brother, William Hanusa, of Sarasota, Florida.
