George Allwardt, 91, a town of Plymouth farmer died at Plymouth Hospital where he had been a patient since Tuesday. A life-long resident of the town of Plymouth, he was born Feb. 2, 1881, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Allwardt, and was married to the former Clara Suhrke on Nov. 14, 1903 in Plymouth. The couple lived and farmed on the Allwardt homestead and Mr. Allwardt also performed mason work in the area for many years. His wife died June 3, 1947.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Alex (Leona) Titel, Plymouth; Mrs. Walter (Anita) Holtz, Germantown; Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Ehlenbeck, Town of Plymouth, and Mrs. Donald (Marian) Mueller, Brown Deer; three sons, Arno, Elmer and Gilbert on the Allwardt homestead; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and two brothers, August of Spokane, Wash., and Alvin of Stockton, Calif. One daughter, one son, three grandchildren and four brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at Wittkopp Funeral home in Plymouth with the Rev. Lowell Ferguson of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, officiating. Burial will be in Greenbush cemetery.
