Funeral services for Leroy J. Moeckel, 71, of Fresno, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. The Rev. Gary Brittain will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. in Rosenberg.

Leroy was born May 22, 1932 in Eagle Lake to Robert and Mary Meyer Moeckel. He passed away Feb. 17, 2004 in Missouri City.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Moeckel; his daughter, Mary Kathryn Garrett; and his grandsons, Kristopher Garrett and Austin Kyle Waldon.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mildred Moeckel of Fresno; his children, Leroy A. Moeckel and his wife, Judith, of Meadows Place, Robert E. Moeckel and his wife, Rosemary, of Needville, Linda Kay Steffek and her husband, Mark, of Needville, Peggy Sue Waldon and her husband, Richard, of Katy and John Wayne Moeckel of Fresno; his grandchildren, Thomas Moeckel and his wife, Amanda, Rebecca Moeckel, Christina Moeckel, Adam Moeckel, Robin Moeckel, Ryan Moeckel, Mandy Garrett, Jennifer Garrett, Debbie Good and her husband, Jeremy, Kimberly Marino, Stephanie Marino, Simon Steffek, Michael Steffek, Robert Morin, Amber Waldon, Michael Waldon, and Rachel Waldon. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Devin, Shane, Allyssa, Serena, Xavierr, Glenn, J'Nette, Travis, Renay and Ryan; his brothers, Elroy R. Moeckel of Sugar Land, Robert G. Moeckel and his wife, Carolyn, of Missouri City, John L. Moeckel and his wife, Glenda, of Sugar Land, and Jerry E. Moeckel and his wife, Monica, of Missouri City; his sisters, Irene Krause and her husband, J.D., of Bastrop, Madeline Liecheski and her husband, Leonard, of Manuel, Regina Krause and her husband, Larry, of Houston, Jo Ann Woods of San Felipe; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Thomas Moeckel, Robert Morin, Ryan Moeckel, Timothy Moeckel, Chris Krause, and Jeremy Good. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Moeckel, Simon Steffek, and Michael Waldon.
