Vivian L. Ritzler, 90, of Tiffin, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin, surrounded by her loving family.

Vivian was born March 3, 1921, in East Moline, Ill., to William and Lulu (Woure) Holman. She married Joseph Ritzler Aug. 1, 1942, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he preceded her in death Dec. 1, 2011.

Vivian is survived by eight children, David (Fran) Ritzler of Findlay, Susan Logsdon of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Robert (Linda) Ritzler, Kenneth (Sue) Ritzler, Larry (Karen) Ritzler, Chuck (Beth) Ritzler, Janice (Mark) Kontak and Thomas Ritzler, all of Tiffin; 26 grandchildren, Mark (Kristy) Ritzler, Laura (Jim) Amburgey, Rick (Nicole) Ritzler, Tony (Evie) Ritzler, Azure and Angela Logsdon, Kristie (Jon) Otterbacher, Robbie (Serena) Ritzler, Tim Ritzler, Amanda Ritzler, Andy (Amanda) Ritzler, Jackie Ritzler, Tim (Renee) Schumm, Katie (Kevin) Firestone, Aaron, Brandon and Taylor Ritzler, Samantha, Nathan, and Allee Ritzler, Brad, Cory, Austin and Danielle Kontak and Drew and Luke Ritzler; 19 great-grandchildren, Tori, Lyndsay and Kelsie Ritzler, Jack, Rachel, Kelli, Megan Amburgey, Julia and Ty Ritzler, Blaine, Gabrielle and Alexander Ritzler, Caden and Grady Otterbacher, Landon and Logan Ritzler, Reece and Ryker Trumbull and Riley Schumm; five brothers, Lloyd Holman, Robert (Joann) Holman, Jim (Rachel) Holman and Leonard (Sandra) Holman, all of Fostoria, and Clifford (Sue) Holman of Port Clinton.

Vivian was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1940 graduate of Fostoria St. Wendlin High School. Vivian enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rick Ritzler; great-grandson, London Ritzler; and three brothers, Kenneth, Preston "Pete," and Joseph Holman.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph and Vivian Ritzler Scholarship Fund at Calvert Catholic Schools.
