Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, and Insurance Broker of Los Angeles, California. The son of Berthold and Belle (Cohn) Bendheim of Arkansas, he graduated from Cornell University in 1907. In 1911, he became the vice-president and general manager of the F. E. Newbery Electric Company of Chicago, Illinois, and the vice-president of the Newbery-Bendheim Electric Company of San Francisco and Los Angeles. The Los Angeles shop was located at 724 South Olive Street. Newbery Electric was one of the earliest nation-wide firms of electrical contractors and engineers. Husband of Edith Frank Kahn, they married in Philadelphia in 1907, and were the parents of Richard and Belle Bendheim. A member of the National Electrical Contractors Association, he retired from electrical contracting in the 1920s and went into the insurance business in Los Angeles.
