Rites Held for Concert Star
San Francisco (UP) - Funeral services were to be held this afternoon for Barbara Ann Korda. San Francisco concert pianist who was killed in an automobile accident in Palo Alto Friday. She was 30.
Mrs. Korda and her mother, Mrs. Evelyn Bennett were thrown to the pavement when a truck hit their car at an intersection. Mrs. Korda was dead on arrival at Palo Alto Hospital. Her mother suffered cuts, bruises and severe shock.
Mrs. Korda studied with Howard Hanson at the Eastman School of Music, with Egan Petri at Mills College and with Adolph Bailer in San Francisco. She was a native of Omaha, Neb.
Her husband, Murray, is a violinist here.
