East Liverpool, OH-January 6, 2008-Martha A. Matern, age 57, of 15649 Pineview Drive, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA following a lengthy illness.
Martha was born December 20, 1950 in Salem, OH, a daughter of Marcus R. and Mary E. Hollabaugh Clark and had lived here since 2002 coming from Kansas City, Missouri.
She worked as an office manager for Payless-Cashways in Kansas City. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, East Palestine.
Besides her mother, Mary Clark of East Palestine, she is survived by four sisters, Elaine (James) Bendle of Grand Rapids, MI, Nancy (Daniel) Altsman of Kingwood, TX, Arlene (Craig) Lawson of East Liverpool and Darlene (Michael) Kelly of East Palestine; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Donald Aull officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
