Jacob Schwartz, the son Jacob Maria Elizabeth (Streck) Schwartz, born on a farm home north in Barton Co., KS on May 17, 1902. Died in Colorado Springs, Colo. on August 9, 1957. His parents moved to Russell County shortly after his birth. He married Caroline FLEGER on June 14, 1931. He was a farmer south of Russell, and a member of the Methodist Church. Was on vacation in Colorado Springs when he had a heart attack.
Survivors: wife; 2 children: Marie, Marcus, both of the home; father, Jacob Schwartz, Sr., Russell; sisters: Mrs.John (Amelia) Reiter, Lincoln, NE; Mrs Frank (Elsie) Merril, Liberal; brother: David Schwartz, Russell. His mother preceded him in death in 1914.
Services August 12, at Deines Funeral Home, and then the Methodist Church, Rev Eklund. Burial in Russell City Cemetery.
