Born March 29, 1899, in Lima, he was the son of Jacob and Anna Mahler Laeufer. He married Inez Skinner on Jan. 6, 1925 and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jack of Rt. 2, Columbus Grove; two daughters, Mrs. William (Joyce) Nichols of 2233 Baty Rd., and Mrs. Roger (Janet) Conner of 713 N. McDonel; a brother, Barney of 1053 W. Elm; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Connolly of 1027 N. West, Mrs. Edna McFarland of 1156 N. Main, Mrs. Eleanor Hartman of 503 S. Metcalf, and Miss Norma Laeufer of 1020 N. West, and seven grandchildren.
He was a retired meat processor for Lima Packing Co., and was superintendent for 29 years and former co-owner of Pride of Lima Produce Co., retiring in 1962. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Chiles and Sons-Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, Rev. Roger Eberly and Rev. Rommie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the cancer society.
