Bouwina J. Hoekstra, 85, of Grant Park, died Saturday (Jan. 8, 2011) in Beecher. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Momence Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Locust St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Faith United Reformed Church, Beecher. The Rev. Todd Joling will officiate.

Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee. Memorials may be made to Faith United Reformed Church, 130 W. Corning Road, Beecher, IL 60401, or to the Village Woods Retirement Home, 2681 Illinois Route 394, Crete, IL 60417.

Mrs. Hoekstra was a homemaker. She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in the Netherlands, the daughter of Dick and Reina Kadyk Knol. Her husband, Menno Hoekstra, whom she married Nov. 7, 1947, in Cicero, is deceased.

Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Kathy Hoekstra, of Grant Park, Harvey and Lori Hoekstra, of Kankakee, Tim and Darla Hoekstra, of Crestwood, Paul and Brenda Hoekstra, of Munster, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Arnold Gorter, of Waupun, Wis., Joyce and Larry Olthoff, of Grant Park; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jennie Teune.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Minna Knol; and one brother-in-law, William Teune.
