Baron Alfred B Anderson age 52 of Oswego, IL passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL after a life long battle with diabetes. Born in Chicago, IL on November 4, 1953, he grew up in the Norwood Park area, on the far northwest side of the city. He attended William J Onahan Grade School and William Howard Taft High School, graduating in 1971. He attended Wilbur Wright Junior College for a year before going to work for Jewel Food Stores and then Norwood Foods. He married his beloved wife Kathy in May of 1978 and moved to Boulder Hill and then to Oswego, where he worked for nineteen years at Allsteel Inc and later at Crown Cork & Seal in Aurora from September 1998 to the present. A lifelong die hard fan of the Green Bay Packers football team, he was well known for his seemingly endless assortment of Packer clothing and paraphernalia. He was a sensitive, emotional, devoted and willing friend to many. He held his memories dearly and loved to tell stories of friends, relationships and of growing up. He often said "I had the greatest childhood a kid could have." He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Katherine "Kathy" nee Knapcik Anderson, of Chicago and Oswego, IL. He is also survived by his sister, Kim R. (Brian) Mathena; two nephews, Shawn and Brett Mathena all of Bedford, TX. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred H Anderson of Chicago, Boulder Hill and Oswego, IL and his mother Geraldine L nee Brune Anderson of Sandusky, OH, Chicago, Boulder Hill and Oswego, IL. Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2006 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD & CREMATION SERVICES at 210 S Madison St in Oswego, IL. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev Brian Pearson officiating. Cremation will be accorded the wishes of the family.
