Stanley L. "Stosh" Ketelhut, 85, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1965 Broadway, Benton Harbor, with Rev. Paul S. Naumann officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery with military rites conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Stanley was born May 5, 1926 in Benton Harbor to Frank & Elizabeth (Knuth) Ketelhut. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII with the Americal Division in the Philippine Islands and the occupation of Japan. On August 20, 1949, he married the former Alberta Hildebrand in Benton Harbor. Stanley was employed as an electrician by the IBEW Local 153 in South Bend, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, IBEW Local 153, VFW Post #1137 and Stevensville American Legion Post #568.

Stanley is survived by his wife Alberta; two sons-Michael (Judy) Ketelhut of Spinks Corners, Ron (Cheryl) Ketelhut of Watervliet; his son-in-law Donald Weckwerth of Watervliet; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers-Charles Ketelhut of Benton Harbor and Jerry Ketelhut of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Susan Weckwerth in 2008, and his sister Geraldine Ketelhut
