Judy Kay Sievert, age 57, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2012 at New Home Lutheran Church with burial at 1:45 PM Friday at Silver Creek Cemetery, Forestburg, SD. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM.

Judy Kay Sievert, daughter of John Carl Sievert and Evelyn (Fouberg) Sievert, was born July 25, 1954 in Mitchell, SD. She grew up on the family farm seven miles south of Fedora, SD. She attended special education from the Howard School District from 1966 to 1970. From 1971 to 1977, Judy received services from the Adjustment Training Center (renamed LifeQuest) in Mitchell. She then received services from Sioux Vocational in Sioux Falls for 18 months from 1977 to 1978. Judy returned to LifeQuest in Mitchell on July 9, 1979, where she was employed at the vocational program. On May 15, 1998, Judy began living at the Gamble Street Apartment and in January of 2000 she moved to a supervised apartment located on East Elm. Judy lived from February 2000 through November of 2011 at East Elm House.

Judy was employed at the Townhouse Café, the Lawler Café, the Elks Lodge, the Thunderbird Motel, the Department of Revenue, and Subway. She stopped working at LifeQuest on October 18, 2010.

Grateful for having shared her life are her five sisters, Dorothy Kluth, Mt. Vernon, SD, Betty Thompson, Mitchell, SD, Ada Kott, Kimball, SD, Darlene Mentele, Spencer, SD, Rosetta Sievert, Mitchell, SD; one brother, Maynard Sievert, Woonsocket, SD; a sister-in-law, Sandra Sievert, Mitchell, SD; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Harold Sievert; a sister, Lucille Sievert; four brothers-in-law, Ronald Thompson, Roy Kluth Jr., Emil Kott and James Mentele; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Sievert.
