Margaret R. McNichol, 82, of Loyalsock Twp., died Tuesday evening, December 30, 2008, at her home.

Margaret R. McNichol, wife of John F. McNichol, of 2900 Four Mile Drive, Montoursville, died Tuesday evening, December 30, 2008, at her home. She was 82.

Mrs. McNichol was born January 8, 1926, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Edward F. McGinley and the former Margaret C. Sheehan.

After completing studies at the former West Philadelphia High School for Girls, she worked for The Aetna Insurance Co., until her marriage.

She and her husband were married June 8, 1946, in the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament in West Philadelphia. They moved to Williamsport in 1948.

Mrs. McNichol was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joan M. Hosbach.

Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Colleen M. Brown, of Montoursville, and Sharon J. McNichol of Williamsport; a son, John P. McNichol, of New York City; a sister, Marie A. Schultz, of Lansdowne, PA; a brother, Edward F. McGinley, Jr., of Lima, Delaware County; six grandchildren, Melissa Farenish, of Loyalsockville, Colin Brown, of Montoursville, Christopher Brown of Williamsport, Meghan M. McNichol of Elkridge, MD, and Daniel J. and J. Patrick McNichol, of Glen Burnie, MD, and one great granddaughter, Simone Kiessling, of Montoursville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, where she was a member. The Rev. Paul C. Fontanella will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

There will be no visitation and the family will provide the flowers.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
