Kenneth Berry, Sept. 1, 1952-March 7, 2011, resident of Sunnyvale, entered into rest suddenly in Dana Point, CA, Monday, March 7, 2011, age 58. Ken leaves his loving son Christopher John Berry, grandson Hayden, sister Marsha Roof, brother-in-law Jim Roof, loving nieces Sue Schoenfeldt, Angie Roof, Pamela Seevers, great nephew Brent Schoenfeldt and great niece Breanna Schoenfeldt. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Lymon and Virgina Berry. Ken served proudly in the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department for 25 years. He worked in Patrol, Traffic and the Detective Bureau. One of his greatest achievements was the creation of the Disaster Aid Response Team. Ken was a former member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and past President of the Cambrian Park Little League. During the past 6 years Ken worked as a Senior Security Specialist for Bechtel Corporation, Global Corporate Security. The family extends deepest appreciation to Riley Bechtel, Glen Brose and the entire Bechtel Corporation for their assistance and support during this difficult time. Ken had a passion for golf, flying his plane, camping, playing cards, and smoking his stogies. His strength, kind spirit and guidance will be sorely missed by his many loving friends and family. He will continue to protect and serve. A celebration of his exemplary life will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. 2nd St., San Jose. Committal following at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose. Reception following.
