Peter Theodore Reinhold, a Civil War veteran, died at his home here [Reese, Michigan] Saturday, November 10 [1923] after an extended illness. He was born in Germany August 17, 1843, and when five years old came to this country with his parents, settling in Frankentrost where he grew to manhood.
In 1868 he was married to Miss Magdelena Lahr of Monroe. They were engaged in farming in Blumfield and later a half mile east of Reese. A few years ago they retired, moving to the village.
At the outbreak of the Civil War the deceased enlisted, serving his country until the surrender.
Besides the widow he is survived by six sons: Edward, John, George, Albert, and Harry of this place; Fred of Bay City; four daughters, Mrs. James Venn and Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell of California, Mrs. Henry Verguson of Detroit, and Mrs. Anna Cowley of Reese. Also four brothers; Ernest, George, John and Christian of Frankentrost and one sister, Mrs. John Wagner of Oklahoma.
Funeral services took place Wednesday at 2 pm from Trinity Lutheran church of which deceased was a member. The pupils of the Trinity school sang a selection. Burial took place in the Denmark cemetery.
