Richard arrived in the United States in early 1850 from Bad Buchau, Wurttemberg accompanied by immediate younger sibling Crescentia Stoeckle. They settled in Wilmington, DE where their cousin Agatha Stoeckle had settled. Crescentia married Alsatian lager brewer and saloon owner Joseph Gully in December 1850. Richard married Irish born Jane Corby in 1852. Their cousin Joseph Stoeckle arrived in US in 1854 and eventually became a Wilmington brewing magnate and one of the city's wealthiest residents. Richard and Jane and family (five children) moved to Mount Vernon, Clinton Township, Ohio ca 1890. He was a carpenter. written by Gregory Dorr gggrand nephew
