Wife of John KINNER (1833-1911)

Colorado Pioneer, arriving 1864

Elizabeth Almeda FIELD was born 11 Aug 1853 near Wesleyville, Harbor Creek Twp, Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Noah D. FIELD, Sr. and Julia Ann OWEN.

After the death of her father, Noah D. FIELD, Sr. while in service with Company "C," Third Colorado Cavalry, her mother Julia Ann OWEN formally indentured Lizzie to Sarah [PARCELL COBERLY] CRULL to work at Coberly's Half Way House in Hunstsville, Douglas, Colorado Territory (19 Jun 1865, Douglas County deeds A:42). It is believed that Sarah and her second husband, William M. CRULL soon adopted "Lizzie" as their own and Lizzie was using the CRULL surname by the time of the 1870 census.

Lizzie met her future husband, John KINNER, who owned a homestead on West Plum Creek, when he stopped at Coberly's Half Way House in Huntville during the 1868 Indian War.

John KINNER married Elizabeth "Lizzie" FIELD (1853-1930) on 1 Jun 1871 at the home of her adoptive parents, Sarah [PARSAL COBERLY] CRULL and husband William CRULL at 393 Glenarm, Denver, Colorado Territory. Witnesses included Olive M. OAKES (wife of D.C. OAKES of 1859 Pikes Peak Gold Rush guidebook fame). Olive and D.C. OAKES had previously been neighbors at Huntsville where D.C. OAKES had been Postmaster and operated a sawmill.

At least (11) children were born to this union.
