Reverend Wilbert W. Stelzer, 84, of Georgetown passed away in Austin on Thursday, April 22, 2004.

Reverend Stelzer was born September 17, 1919 in Thorndale to G.H. and Sidonie Wissman Stelzer.

He married Violet Deterling on May 22, 1948 in Houston.

Reverend Stelzer leaves behind his wire, Violet Stelzer; four sons, Reverend Ronald Stelzer and wife Margaret of Centereach, New York, David Stelzer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Warren Stelzer and wife Susan of Arlington; two daughters, Karen Flicker and husband Gaylord of Pocatello, Idaho, and Margareat Clikeman and husband Paul of Richmond, Virginia; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Clarence and Marvin of Dallas and Fritz of Georgetown; and sisters, Mildred Holt, Elinor Blakney, Eudoris Sheve and Lucile Boermer, all of Austin.

Reverend Stelzer spent his professional career as a minister and as a professor of physical education.

Reverend Stelzer was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where services were held on Monday April 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Pastor John Selle officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown.

Pallbearers were Fritz Stelzer, Clarence Stelzer, Melvin Deterling, Werner Deterling, Kenny Baird and Herb Nelson.
