Mass of the Christian burial for Felix N. Langenfeld of Carroll will be at 9:30 a.m Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll.

Mr. Langenfeld, 92, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at the home of a daughter in Breda following a long illness.

The Rev. Timothy Schott will preside at the Mass. Lector will be Dr. L. B. Westendorf. Gift bearers will be Julie Hodne, Kerry Henkenius and Laura Heisterkamp. Servers will be Rachel Pick, J.J. Pick and Hope Henkenius. Eucharistic minister will be Kelley Pick.

Casket bearers will be Kirk Ulveling, Kraig Ulveling, Kent Ulveling, Kyle Ulveling, Tim Collison and Dr. Robert Langenfeld.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors by Maurice Dunn American Legion Post No. 7 of Carroll.

Visitation starts at 2:30 and a rosary will be prayed at 3 Friday afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Lawrence Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7:30 and the Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary at 8:15 Friday night at the funeral home.

A son of Dr. C.A. and Anna (Petsche) Langenfeld, he was born Aug. 22, 1908, at Earling. The family resided in Chicago while Mr. Langenfeld's father attended veterinary school. They moved to Carroll in 1914.

Mr. Langenfeld attended Sts. Peter and Paul School and graduated from Carroll High School in 1927. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., for a year then returned to Carroll to manage Beiter Oil Station.

He and Bernadette Conroy were married June 27, 1934, at St. Joseph Church in Carroll.

Mr. Langenfeld became a rural mail carrier for the Postal Service in 1942. He served in the Navy from April 1944 to October 1945, serving as a mailman second class. He then returned to his mail-carrying job until retiring in 1975.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Men's Club and the Rural Mail Carriers Association; an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and a 50-year member of the Carroll American Legion post; and a former member of the Carroll Elks Lodge.

Survivors include three children and their spouses; Sandy and James Ulveling of Breda, Dr. Robert and June Langenfeld of Carroll and Sharon and Tom Collison of Arcadia; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two brothers and their wives; Omer and Grace Langenfeld of Carroll and Vincent and Myra Langenfeld of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Sister Lorene Lourdes, of St. Louis, Mo.; a half-sister, Helen Meyers and her husband, Frank, of Clear Lake; a stepbrother, Albert Nagl of Carroll; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Nagl, of Carroll; and a brother-in-law, Dr. L.B. Westendorf of Carroll.

Mr. Langenfeld was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernadette, in 1980; a granddaughter, Lynn Langenfeld; a brother, Elmer Langenfeld; a sister, Marie Langenfeld; a brother-in-law, Louis Nagl; and two sisters-in-law; Ceal Nagl and Florence Westendorf.
