Betty May Korb was born November 18, 1926 in Winner, South Dakota to George and Rhoda (Stacks) Clark. She grew up on the family's farm southwest of Winner and attended rural elementary school and Winner High School, graduating in 1945.

Betty was united in marriage to Alfred Korb on December 10, 1947 at Star Prairie Baptist Church near Clearfield, South Dakota. The Korbs made their home on a farm near Carter, South Dakota until 1982, when they retired from farming and moved to Winner. Betty was an avid gardener and managed a seasonal greenhouse in Winner during her retirement years. She also enjoyed being an Avon representative.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her son Marion James (Jim), one grandson and her parents. Survivors include three sons, two daughters, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Winner, South Dakota, where Betty was an active member.
