ERIC C.M. ELY Age 77 of Menlo Park, CA died May 26, 2004. He was born on September 23, 1926 in Kobe, Japan. His parents were Thomas and Loraine Ely. He grew up in Yokohama, Japan. At the age of 11, he went to an English Public School to be educated and then he continued his education at Shawnigan Lake Boarding School in Victoria, B.C. Canada. He moved to California and graduated from UC Berkeley. Eric worked as an Executive for General Motors in Fremont, CA. After he retired he ultimately moved to Menlo Park, CA. He is survived by a wife, Diane Ely; his children, Douglas Ely and Eleanor McGuire; a stepdaughter, Margarida Austregesilo and his grandchildren, Erika and Michael Ely. A memorial service will be held June 14th, 2004 at 12 PM, at Roller Hapgood & Tinney Funeral Home in Palo Alto, CA.
